Together we offer a variety of therapies to suit your individual needs.
All of our therapists will be happy to guide you in making your selection if you are unsure which therapy to choose.

PCT (Person Centered Therapy)

Person Centered Therapy is ‘traditional’ counselling whereby the client is placed at the forefront of the work. The client brings the content, the client guides the work and the therapist is merely a facilitator for the client’s own journey of self-discovery. In it’s purist form the therapist acts as a mirror for the client, repeatedly showing them exactly what they present so that they can see themselves before making their own decisions about what to change, if anything. All of our practitioners use elements of PCT throughout each of the services offered always delivering empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard.

Psychodynamic Counselling

Psychodynamic Counselling focuses on a client’s previous experiences and seeks to understand what impact they might be having on the present. This can include but is not limited to childhood, significant events, trauma and behavioural patterns. Often you will work to create a chronological map of your life. You will dissect and review your emotional responses with the hope of gaining clarity and relief.

TA (Trasactional Analysis)

TA helps clients to understand their relationship patterns and the way they interact with others. It explores unhelpful patterns in interactions and it addresses the stories that you have learnt to believe about your life. This therapy is great for people who struggle with interpersonal communication or have a challenging relationship with a particular person (relative, friend, colleague or partner).

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

CBT uses a three step process to identify:
1. Triggering situations.
2. Unwanted thoughts that occur in these situations.
3. Unwanted behaviours that occur as a result of the thoughts.
Together you then challenge your thoughts and behaviours and seek to find alternative ways to respond, using helpful coping strategies. This is a practical therapy that often requires you to undertake out of session ‘homework’.

SFBT promotes the idea that there is an answer to every challenge.
The therapist will help you to explore your goals, perspectives, resources and ongoing commitment to change. This therapy places an emphasis on where you are now, today and where you want to be in the future.

Schema Therapy

In Schema Therapy you will explore your mental filing cabinet. This theory believes that people store like-minded information together forming strong themes throughout their lives. This therapy addresses unwanted patterns of behaviour and seeks to explore why a person might have strong associations to particular topics.

Exposure Therapy

This therapy is best suited to clients suffering from anxiety or phobia based issues.
In the safety of a controlled environment with the support of your therapist you will undertake safe exercises to gradually enable you to confront scenarios that would otherwise dis-empower you.
The work is always carried out at the client’s pace and the client is instrumental in planning the challenges to be worked on.

Creative Therapy

In Creative Therapy clients have access to a variety of mediums to help them explore themselves. This could include but is not limited to art and craft, toys and puppets, sound and instruments. The intention is that the client selects (with guidance if required) an appropriate medium to help them to look at the presenting issues in a new and creative way.
